"We hereby inform you that the Commission is organising a second stakeholder meeting on Geographic Information (GI) in Luxembourg on 3 March 2011. The purpose of this meeting is to continue the discussion of possible activities in the area of Geographic Information that could be taken into consideration for funding in the framework of CIP ICT PSP, launched at a first meeting held on 20 October 2010.
Attached you will find the agenda for the event. In line with the objectives of the DAE and CIP ICT PSP, the meeting will revolve around the discussion of European added-value products or services based on GI that are likely to contribute to economic growth, the obstacles that currently hinder the deployment of such products or services, how these obstacles can be overcome, to what extent the required digital content is available and which stakeholders need to be involved in order to bring a possible project to a successful conclusion.
Furthermore, we also inform you that, in addition to the general information day on CIP ICT PSP call 5 on 28 February, a dedicated information day for the theme of Digital Contentwill take place in Luxembourg on 8 March 2011. Registration will be open until Thursday, 3 March 2011 at 18:00 hrs via the programme website at
This event will also be added to the list of information days that is published on the CIP ICT webpage (http://ec.europa.eu/ information_society/ activities/ict_psp).
