EoE webes előadás: a fenntartható fejlődéssel összefüggő tudásszerzés és harmonizálás az információs korban

Az Eyes on Earth (EoE) program felhívása!
A hazai érdekeltek figyelmébe:

"Join us for a webinar on May 31, 2017 15:00-16:00 CEST (1PM-2PM UTC)
Capturing and harmonsing the knowledge behind sustainable development in the information age
All registrants will receive a link to the recording - so please register even if you cannot attend the live event.
ABSTRACT The Sustainable Development Goals are far-reaching and efforts to realise them are bringing together a vast array of knowledge, information, and data. Such activity is a great asset; however, it comes with the formidable challenge of systematically capturing diverse understandings, and transferring these into technological solutions. If the knowledge motivating information and data acquisition, mobilisation, and analysis is well-coordinated and intelligible to digital systems, the communities pursuing the SDGs can rapidly access deep insight into the SDG process from the multiple perspectives it necessarily calls upon. This webinar will focus on our efforts to capture and coordinate stakeholder knowledge in a machine-readable and -actionable form. We will briefly explore why this effort is needed, how it is done, and the nature of its potential impacts. Most importantly, we will present the ways in which stakeholders can contribute to and shape the process.
SPEAKER Pier Luigi Buttigieg is a Data Scientist at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (Germany). His work focuses on the combination of semantics, informatics, and data analysis in aid of meaningfully mobilising ecological data and detecting structure in this complex and plastic context. He leads the Environment Ontology (ENVO; which aims to provide semantically consistent data standardisation across and beyond the life sciences. He also co-leads the Sustainable Development Goals Interface Ontology (SDGIO; to better link scientific output to societal goals and help create a basis for socio-ecological data science.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

INSPIRE konferencia 2017

A mai postából:
"The 'INfrastructure for SPatial Information in the EU' Directive, INSPIRE was adopted a decade ago to install the necessary data governance and legal as well as technical interoperability to facilitate the access and use of a wide variety of public sector spatial data.
A wide range of EU and national policies and initiatives benefit from its implementation as both policy relevant and eGovernment citizen centric applications require the effective and efficient sharing of spatial data/information and network services between public administrations within and across borders. Through the implementation of its online network services INSPIRE facilitates in addition the access and re-use by the public third parties.
This year's  2017 conference with the theme 'INSPIRE a digital Europe: Thinking out of the box',  is jointly organised by France and Germany in collaboration with the European Commission Directorate-General for the Environment and other partners in the Commission and EU agencies.
The conferences emphasises in particular cross-border collaboration in a digital society while the call for submissions  is centred around applications, capacity building, maintenance/implementation and innovation.

As you will notice in the scope of the conference, many of the application areas focus on eGovernment and policies (environment, transport, energy, agriculture, smart cities, health, waste and utility management, justice, spatial development/planning, disaster management, citizen science, IoT/Big data/Copernicus…).
We take this opportunity to invite you to join us  at the conference and to share your views, ideas, experiences and expectations.
Please note the deadline for submitting your abstract for the INSPIRE conference is the 28th April.
We hope to welcome many of you beginning of September in Strasbourg and Kehl.

Best regards,
The INSPIRE 2017 Conference Organising Committee

FIG Working Week 2017 Helsinkiben. Elkészült a program

FIG Körlevél (változatás nélkül) az érdeklődők számára:
"Dear colleague,

Time has come: the 79th FIG Working Week, hosted by the
International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), the Finnish Association of Geodetic and Land Surveyors (MIL) and the Finnish Association of Surveyors (MAKLI), is about to kick off.

From 28 May to 2 Junesurveyors, land experts, geospatial professional and allies from all over the world will gather in Helsinki, Finland. It will be a time to meet again, to network, to take stock of the key challenges of our time within the surveying profession and to strategize about our future.

With already more than 1,000 registered participants gathering from XX countries, this is going to be one of the biggest FIG Working Weeks to date.

This year the conference programme is as rich as ever.
On Tuesday 30 Ed Parsons, Google, will set the scene for the FIG Working Week and the overall theme: Surveying the world of tomorrow – From digitalisation to augmented reality. Ed will talk about the activities going on both above and below the radar and the professional’s role in the future from an overall level setting the tone and context of our world.

But that is not all: New to the FIG Working Week? Join us at the session for newcomers on Tuesday to meet members of the council, the FIG Office and other participants who will experience the FIG Working Week for the first time. Do not miss this opportunity to learn more about FIG, on how to maximize your conference experience and making most of your attendance.

This FIG Working Week will mark a handful of firsts. A new format – quick presentations that we have decided to call Short Inspirational Sessions (ISS) – will officially make its debut. The presentations are short, sharp and specific, hence maximize information and idea gathering. Following the inspiring presentations there will be a lively discussion.

Finally, the technical programme offers 80 informative and exciting sessions covering the entire spectrum of the surveying profession reflecting the range of the ten FIG technical commissions, some organized by the commissions, some organized in collaborations with our partners, hereunder World Bank, UN-Habitat GLTN and FAO. Each of the 4 Platinum members of FIG, ESRI, TRIMBLE, BENTLEY and LEICA can also be found within the Technical Programme.

Oh, and did we mentioned our rich and vibrant social programme, culminating with a Gala Dinner as the famous Finlandia Hall?

Kind regards,
Ms. Wu Qiong

Személyes megjegyzés: a rendezvény egyik színhelye a Delfti Műegyetem auditóriuma azért is kedves számomra, mivel első nyugateurópai turista körutamon itt vettem részt 1970 őszén először ISPRS szimpóziumon. Hét évvel később, hónapokat tölthettem ugyanott, Prof. Baarda Geodézia tanszékén, ösztöndíjasként (fotogrammetriai kiértékelést és az IBM integrált építőmérnöki programcsomagját alkalmazva egy vízügyi tervezési feladat megoldásában). Az út egyik hasznos eredménye volt a kanadai Kouba-féle doppler műholdas kiegyenlítési programcsomag megismerése, mellyel ott Husti kolléga dolgozott.
