"Dear colleagues,
You are invited to submit a short abstract to the 3rd International Land Use Symposium on Land use changes: Trends and projections, http://ilus2019.ioer.info/, to be held December 4th-6th, 2019, in Paris Diderot University. It will be preceded by a pre-symposium workshop on Urban Sprawl on December 3rd, 2019. The ILUS organizing committee welcomes the submission of original contributions with the goal of advancing our understanding of land use and land cover (LULC) changes. Submission may either fit focus themes or be on a white track. Focus themes for this edition are:
· Land Use and Land Cover Change Observations,
· Metropolization: Challenges and Risks,
· Drivers, Mechanisms and Tools,
· Varia: This topic contains free contributions whose topical focus is indirectly related.
During the symposium, keynotes from complementary disciplines contributing to the field will be given by renowned scientists:
- Michael Batty from University College London: “Inventing Future Cities”,
- Martino Pesaresi from the JRC: “Measuring global human settlement dynamics in the perspective of the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL)”,
- Nathalie Gaussier from University of Bordeaux: “Spatial cognition: more than a toolkit, new approaches?”,
- François Moriconi from University Paris Diderot: “Urban vs rural sprawl ? A time approach of the land use facing population growth”,
- Norbert Pfeifer from Technical University Wien: “Understanding and quantifying landscape changes from historic imagery”.
Short abstracts of no more than 500 words should be submitted before March 29th, 2019 directly at this address: http://ilus2019.ioer.info/call-for-abstracts/
Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings and be presented as oral presentations or as posters.
Selected post-conference full papers will be eligible for submission to selected special issues of journals, which will be soon announced on the website.
Deadline for submitting short abstracts: March 29th, 2019.
Notification of acceptance: May 17th, 2019.
Pre-symposium workshop: December 3rd, 2019.
Symposium: December 4th – 6th, 2019.
