Figyelemfelhívás a hazai szereplők (érintettek, érdeklődők) számára:
A fenntartható fejlődés középtávú programjában (ENSZ Agenda 2030) a kitűzött célok, alcélok elérésében kritikus szereplők az adatbiztosítók és az adat-felhasználók. A GEO harmadik ízben biztosít műhely jellegű fórumot a két közösség találkozója számára. Az adatszolgáltatók oldalán a földmegfigyelési és téradatok szoros kapcsolatát az is szemlélteti, hogy a rendezvény egyik támogató-szervezője az amerikai kormány szövetségi téradat bizottsága, az FGDC (Federal Geographic Information Committee).
A Genfi Egyetem az ENSZ környezeti regionális GRID intézménye, amely Európában elsők között alkalmazza a nagytömegű földmegfigyelési adatok korszerű adat-architektúra és elemző technológiáját, melyet 'Svájci adatkocka' néven is emlegetnek.

Az RDA (Research Data Alliance) EU Adatinnovációs Fórum - Brüsszel, 2018. január 30

A kutatással összefüggő adatok szerepe az adatgazdaságban lesz a vita középpontjában a január 30-án Brüsszelben zajló az RDA (Research Data Alliance) EU Adatinnovációs Fórumon. A rendezvény egyik szereplője Stefano Nativi, (NCR) a jövő évi firenzei Digitális Föld Nemzetközi Szimpózium házigazdája, aki szoros munkakapcsolatban áll a JRC-vel Alessandro Annonival és Max Cragliával a GEO vonalán nemzetközi együttműködésben fejlesztett GEO közös adatinfrastruktúrával, brokering szolgáltatással és az adatkockák interoperabilitási kérdései tanulmányozása kapcsán. Az esemény az OMSZ klimakutatóit is érdekelheti.

"European researchers, data service and infrastructure providers and private sector representatives are invited to join the discussion on the role of research data in the Data Economy context and the RDA contribution to the different Data Economy building blocks at the upcoming RDA EU Data Innovation Forum, 30 January 2018, Brussels. https://rd-alliance.org/rdaeu-data-innov-forum-2018.

The goal of the event is to collect and converge the different perspectives and push forward new innovative ideas in the overall context of the challenges and opportunities of the European Data Economy and data-driven innovation in Europe mapped to ongoing activities or future challenges to be addressed by RDA WGs & IGs.
The event is structured on around 3 core sessions: 

• Finding a common ground: Industry, research data and the EU Data Economy - Discussing challenges for research and industry data in the context of the European Data Economy, common ground and points of convergence
• Facilitating data management, sharing & re-use – RDA Technical & social bridges/solutions - The session will be dedicated to presenting RDA cross-sector research and Industry solutions, implementation and use cases, lessons learned.
• Opportunities to shape future data research - blockchain, what is it for and its limitation - Panel to discuss a selection of topics where research and industry meet and how these can be incorporated in the current or future agenda of the RDA and the RDA groups
