AGISEE SDI Workshop
South-East European Spatial Data Infrastructures facing INSPIRE
The AGISEE SDI workshop is organized by the Association for Geospatial
Information in South-East Europe as part of the 4th Croatian NSDI and
INSPIRE Day and 8th Cartography and Geoinformation Conference. It will
take place on 28 September 2012.
The workshop will focus on the status of SDI (Spatial Data
Infrastructure) developments in the countries of South-East Europe in
view of the European Directive INSPIRE. It would demonstrate further
progress in the implementation of Spatial Data Infrastructures, data
sharing and respective processes in the region, inform about experiences
and encourage networking and collaboration.
Part of the workshop will be the final report of the project
“Non-Governmental Organizations for Spatial Data Infrastructure”
(NGO4SDI), which is supported by the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure
Association (GSDI), by its Small Grant Program.
Call for Papers
Papers for oral presentation are sought to this workshop that would
present spatial data infrastructures in the countries of South-East
Europe, on local, national or regional level. A spatial data
infrastructure is defined here as an instrument, including its legal and
organizational context, that makes geospatial data from several sources
available and enables data access and distribution. The paper should
describe a best practice case and its relation to INSPIRE from which
others involved in building spatial data infrastructures could learn.
The paper would be presented at the AGISEE SDI Workshop on 28 September
2012, held during the 4th Croatian NSDI and INSPIRE Day and 8th
Cartography and Geoinformation Conference. Selected papers could be
published as full papers in a journal (e.g. Kartografija i
geoinformacije) after the conference.
An abstract should be submitted on the web pages of the 4th Croatian
NSDI and INSPIRE Day and 8th Cartography and Geoinformation Conference
(http://nipp.kartografija.hr/i ndex.php?id=308), along with a note that
the abstract would be foreseen for the AGISEE workshop. Interested
authors and presenters should also register to the SDI Days on the same
web site.
Deadline for submitting abstracts is 15 August 2012.
The best contributions would be selected for presentation at the AGISEE
SDI workshop and a notification be sent to presenters by 31 August 2011.
