SECOND call for Submissions for the COSIT Doctoral Colloquium

Spatial information theory is concerned with all aspects of space and spatial environments as experienced and represented by humans and also by other animals and artificial agents. The scope of the conference includes both applications to specific domains and also the development of general theories of space and spatial information.
The COSIT Doctoral Colloquium is an excellent opportunity for PhD students to present their research in a supportive environment to an international audience of researchers, industry and fellow students.
Students at any stage of their PhD are encouraged to apply: the Colloquium is an ideal forum for presenting research in the early or planning stages, as well as work that is nearing completion.
Participants can expect to receive valuable feedback on issues such as how to identify and refine research questions, how to orally present research, and how to publish research, as well as insights into how to successfully complete a PhD in an interdisciplinary field.
Typically, presentation topics are related to a PhD student's doctoral dissertation research, but any research topic appropriate for COSIT may be presented, as long as the student is the primary author of the work.

Review process:
Space permitting, all graduates who meet the deadline, format, and topic requirements will be invited to participate and give a brief oral presentation of their work. If the number of submissions exceed the time available, a rapid peer-review selection process will be based on the usual criteria of originality, scientific importance and relevance to the COSIT themes.
Conference venue:
The conference will be held at Hotel La Fonda in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. The city of Santa Fe is the oldest capital city in the United States, and is the oldest city in New Mexico. The City sits near the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, with an average elevation of 7000ft/2100m. Santa Fe is a city of contrasts, where visitors find some of the nation's oldest antiquities alongside some of its most avant garde artists. Honored by UNESCO as one of the world's 9 "Creative Cities," Santa Fe is a melting pot of all the art forms, and has been for more than a century. Getting to Santa Fe is easy. Major airlines serve Santa Fe via the Albuquerque International Sunport, just 60 miles to the south of Santa Fe. Regular train service via the New Mexico Rail Runner connect the two cities, and rental cars are readily available.
