National Data Integrity Conference 2015 !
"Hosted at Colorado State University from May 5th - 8th, 2015, this conference aims to provide attendees with both a high level understanding of research data challenges and impart practical tools and skills to deal with them.
Topics Include:Data reproducibility, validity, privacy, security, visualization, reuse, access, preservation, rights and managementSessions will feature 19 nationally renowned speakers from the NIH, NSF, Nature Publishing Group, Department of Health and Human Services, Stanford University and more!Includes an optional two-day Preconference Data Carpentry WorkshopThe Data Carpentry Workshop is designed to teach basic concepts, skills and tools for working more effectively with data. The workshop is for learners with little to no prior knowledge of programming, shell scripting, or command line tools.
Topics covered include:
- How to use spreadsheet programs (such as Excel) more effectively and the limitations of such programs.
- Getting data out of spreadsheets and into more powerful tools --- using R or Python.
- Using databases, including managing and querying data in SQL.
- Workflows and automating repetitive tasks, in particular using the command line shell and shell scripts.
Conference Costs:Data Carpentry Preconference Workshop (May 5th & 6th): $75.00 (includes breaks with food & lunches)
Conference Sessions (May 7th & 8th): $200.00 (includes breaks with food & lunches)
